Material related to Leonard Niess, MD 1912. One leather bound ring binder 4 1/2 x 7 inches, contains notes on diagnosis and treatment with dietary recipes and prescriptions. Several pages are dated to December 1910. The course notes were most likely made during Niess' 3rd year studies. This session was the first after the complete reorganization of the medical school.

Physician. Leonard Niess (b. 1878) received his medical degree from Washington University Medical School in 1912. He practiced medicine in Trenton, IL (AMA directory, 1927 ed., 1934 ed.) and died in 1941 (Illinois Statewide Death Index online, 1916-1950.).
